The hazards posed by strains of lethal bacteria have, in recent years, been widely publicised. The MRSA outbreaks that occurred throughout the US and the UK in 2005 and 2006 caused widespread concern for the health and saftey standards across the board.

In reaction to this, Silicone Engineering's laboratory and innovation teams started to conduct in-depth research into the possibility of developing an antimicrobial silicone rubber to prevent such strains of bacteria growing on the surface.

After trialing different formulations, the laboratory team finally developed neutraSil™
